The leading lady, JANG SHIN YOUNG(whom I first "met" in the 2009 KBS TV series called THE ROAD HOME) as In Hee, was only nineteen years old when this was aired for the first time, but she acted so well that no one questioned her age. Both men were in their early 30s, but she had good chemistry with each of them, that it did not really matter(I think nineteen-year-old people are normally in High School in Korea...here in the Philippines they are most probably a junior in the university or something, and is an adult, so a person playing her role opposite 30-year-old men would not be so surprising).
SONG IL GOOK was one of the most popular actors we Filipinos "met" earlier on. He was also a favorite of ours. JUMONG was a big hit here, so I guess if I watched this in 2003, I would only recognize him and LEE JUNG GIL who plays Seung Mo's monster of a father. Oops, Jumong was aired in 2006. Maybe I meant BODYGUARD. Yes, I guess that's what I meant. I have also seen ALL ABOUT EVE, but...OK. I have made my point.
Mom and I watched the three episodes one after the other and we just finished this a few moments ago, so everything is still very fresh.
I still remember the good scenes, but unfortunately, I remember the bad ones too.
This is not for the faint of heart because there are some violent scenes. I wonder if the child actors were given pep talks or something because their characters have witnessed certain things children are not supposed witness "point-blank".
We cried during the last scenes...it was bittersweet, but it had to happen to wake someone up. We love the flow of the story, the acting, the directing, of course, and the casting. Although we cried, we liked how the story ended. Our hearts are still heavy right now, but we...I mean, I, assure you that it is a good mini series worth watching.
