Marriage Contract (결혼계약) 2016

6 Reasons “Marriage Contract” Will Have You Hooked
What? Another story where one of the characters has a terminal illness? I don't want to be sad, so why should I watch it?
Well, for one the article above convinced me so I had to see for myself if Lavely Shai was telling the truth.
It turns out she was so I am very glad that I watched this series from beginning to end via Netflix. It has a believable story and relatable characters...yes, the older brother is a brat and doesn't act like an older brother or first son, but there are many people like him almost everywhere in the world.
There are no pure evil characters...yes, even that loan shark is not that evil. He has some humanity left in him. I think the most despicable character is the chairman, and Han Ji-hoon was correct to point out that nothing or no one was scarier than his father.
The cast has good chemistry, and even if there are sad moments, there are lots light ones.
My favorite scenes are the scenes between Han Ji-hoon and Cha Eun-seong. In this day and age we read a lot of horror stories about you-know-what, so I am filled with joy that even if these two didn't get along instantly, they learned to love each other like a real father and daughter. (more below)

There are many types of relationships here: Filial, Fraternal, Philial, et cetera, of course, first and foremost, Philogyny.
I thought I first "met" UEE in OJAKGYO FAMILY(SONS OF OJAGKYO), but the thing is, I watched QUEEN SEONDEOK before I watched Ojakgyo Famiky, so that's where I "met" her first. I have always liked her, but I respect her more after watching her here.
LEE SEO-JIN is a busy actor. I first "met" him in the Jo Insung starrer called SHOOT FOR THE STARS, but I noticed his acting in PHOENIX. I also liked his acting in LOVERS. Physically, he is not really my type, but I do like his dimples, so when Kang Hye-soo's mother-in-law said something like nobody with dimples has a likable personality(I could "replay" the scene for the exact words, but that's how I remember it now) I couldn't help, but laugh because I have dimples too. My thought bubble was, "So maybe that's why I am still alive today..." Siguro masama akong damo. April last year I could have died too, but I am still alive and somewhat kicking, but when I was ten, I thought I was dying because I suffered with migraine a lot, and when I was fifteen, ovarian cysts were removed, to name a few. Of course, even if dimples are deformities according to science, there is no basis for what she said.
Sigh, I am digressing...back to Lee Seo-jin and his portrayal of Han Ji-hoon, he was really very good in being a jerk and a lovable person. Besides being convincing as someone who is in love with Kang Hye-soo, I like his rapport with child actress SHIN RIN-AH who plays Cha Eun-seong.
Kudos to those who picked the whole ensemble. From the main stars, to the supporting characters, and bit players, everyone did well.
There were some concerns about the "facts"(from the comments of the people who watched), but since I am no expert about those "facts", I won't talk about them.
So I guess I will end this so-called review here.
Thanks for your time.
