The long and short of it, he hurts her so that she could fly like a butterfly...so that she could achieve success without him pulling her down, but for her, if he is not there to share her joys, everything is meaningless.

Sigh.

I love it, but I guess I need to read the Manga version for me to appreciate their love story more.
