My Lecturer, My Husband(2020)

MY LECTURER, MY HUSBAND is an Indonesian RomCom that stars Reza Rahadian as Sadewa Bentara Arya (Arya) and Prilly Latuconsina as Inggita Almira Arundati (Inggit)

In Filipino inggit means envy, but I was so sure that's not what the name is in Indonesian so I tried searching for it, and thankfully I learned that it means encouragement.

At the very least I guess she was named by her parents after the late former wife of President Sukarno, Inggit Garnasih, who was married to him, the great leader for Indonesian Independence, for twenty long years(1923-1943). She died in 1984.

What do I feel about the RomCom series?

I did not expect to love this series, but I do. I think the main characters have great chemistry.

Prilly, the lady who plays Inggit, is not the typical leading lady, and I am very happy that they chose her to play the leading role. She is beautiful and graceful(watch her pole dancing during the dream sequence...apparently it was not in the script, and not all the fans liked it---well, I don't exactly like it, like it, but it shows she's graceful---maybe that's why it became a dream sequence), but normally, the casting director would give her a role as the best friend or something, so I am grateful that she was given this role.

Two men are in love with her here. Her boyfriend, Tristan, who is studying to be a doctor, and her Lecturer, Pak Arya.

It is quite obvious with the actions of the dear lecturer that he has feelings for Inggit.

He was like a little boy with a crush on a girl he loves to pick on. His actions showed us, the viewers, that his feelings started way beyond the "arrangement" or agreement with Inggit's Baba.

It is not a "thinking" series, but something to make us entertained during this "pandemic season".

Speaking of the "pandemic", they tried to educate the viewers about the importance of wearing masks, taking showers after spending time outside, et cetera, but when they speak to one another, they put their masks down. Why????? Anyways, that's my major complaint. It's the only one.

Oh, I love the "gigil" during the last episode. I had a light feeling.

Would I rewatch it? Definitely!
